‘Double-You’ Bush delights media
The Annual White House Correspondents is traditonal a change for president to puke fun of press and himself, but last night Mr. bush had a litte help.He invited Bridges to play his double. The president talked to the press in polite, friendly terms. Bridges told them what the president was really thinking.
每年的白宫媒体晚餐传统上是总统取笑媒体和他自己的机会，不过这次布什有了个帮手。布什邀请了bridges，总统对媒体用礼貌友好的词句，而bridges在旁边同时说总统实际想的话。
Real president: “I’m absolutely delighted to be here. As is Laura.
Fake president: “She’s hot. “
布什： 我非常高兴来到这里，劳拉也是
bridges：她真火！
“The media really ticks me off — the way they try to embarrass me by not editing what I say,” Bridges said
bridges：媒体使我出洋相的方法就是不编辑我所说的话。
Real president: “As you know, I always look forward to these dinners.”
Fake president: “It’s just a bunch of media types, Hollywood liberals, democrats like (Sen.) Joe Biden. How come I can’t have dinner with the 36% of the people who like me? The only thing missing is Hillary Clinton sitting in the front row rolling her eyes.”
bridges：“Where is the great white hunter? He shot the only trial lawyer in the country who support me.”
bush： “I’m sorry vice president couldnt be here tonight”
后面别的主持人Stephen Colbert也一样讽刺bush”believes Wednesday what he believed Monday, despite what happened Tuesday”.
在周三坚信他在周一所相信的，不管周二发生了什么。
“I believe that the government that governs best is a government that governs least,” he told the audience, “and by these standards we have set up a fabulous government in Iraq”.

Bush in ‘chipper’ mood at dinner
April 29: President Bush and look-alike, sound-alike sidekick Steve Bridges poke fun at the president, fellow politicians and the press at the 92nd annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
